"What's the point of doing social projects?" - A Point of View

Recently I was asked about this question by my friend.

"Raf, what's the point of you doing social project?"

To answer this, you must know that it's definitely personal things. There's no such thing that I only want to be viewed as "Good" people or stuff. I just want to fulfilled something I missed during my terms working as professionals.

You might know that I used to have several project social when I was student, right?. Formerly, I might hidden my own agenda for creating my CV looks great. But no, even after I get the jobs due to things I have done, I felt something missing that I really want to get and find really soon for the past 1 year. I want to give my best for the societies, I want to make as much as good deeds possible, interact with more people and of course fulfilled my basic human right as social being.

I was struggling with "Is it really a life I want?" or ..... "Is it ok to paid less but you can work and give more to the locals?". Ya, I was having this kind of thought whether I should left my current career path or not. Till I gave up everything to my senior about what I was feeling, that I want to contribute more, even after being professionals. She felt it too!

So yeah, this is why I am currently developing our own project called #BangunMimpi. It might be sound cliche, but what I really want to do is simply ...... contributing as much as possible to the locals. I don't want to be stubborn for thinking only for myself. Enough is enough and definitely it's not my value. Even on my surrounding, I don't want to myself only, it felt wrong and not so cool. So, the least I could do is inspiring my colleagues and peers to do something great, giving extramiles for the company I work.

So yeah, coz this feeling, I need and want to broaden this feeling further, and create this project as the pilot project. It might looks not so sustain, but surely we will think about it, to make it sustainable soon.

Conclusion

So yeah, for those who asked, hopefully you could take something within this post. I simply want to fulfilled the missing pieces that I felt recently. To fulfill this, I simply put myself to create new projects for helping the children on Papua.

Calm down, coz the ticket cost to go there would be covered by us personally, almost all of team already have our own jobs, and the rest is about giving something more for the 100 children such as Books, Shoes, and any additional resource for helping us creating the program.
